What I Am Blogging Now Is A Must!
About F & N ,Home Economics,or rather Food & Nutritions...
Those practical lessons...!
How I missed those lessons!
Now,we are studying Design & Technology instead of F & N
The first lesson when doing the F & N practical...
I was so excited!
We are making "pizza", but using bread. :]
The ingredients were tomato sauce, capsicum, pineapple, sausage & chili for me! XD
Everyone have a piece of bread!
So we start following what the teacher had told us to do!
Lay all the ingredients and put in the oven.
After that when the food is ready,we still have a little time left and I ate it!
Practical is quite difficult at first since this is your very first time :]
But after a while, you will find that you already got used to it and it's very enjoyable!
I was craving for more lessons!
Practical is very fun!
Will upload my "pizza" picture next time :D
Another is when I make chocolate milkshake!
First experience!
The process is liked so nice!
If your cooking is good, the food most likely to be quite tasty!
We also made spaghetti, pudding, squeezing orange juice too. :]
For theory lessons,I had learnt about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle & a balanced diet.
The food pyramid is one of our guides.
The three main principles/points are: Moderation,Balanced,Variety.
We should consumed lesser of the food at the tip of the pyramid.
We should consumed more of the food found at the bottom of the food pyramid.
They are the Rice And Alternatives.(6-7 servings per day)
They provide us mostly energy to carry out life activities.
We are encouraged to eat more of them.
On top of the Rice And Alternatives food group,we have the Fruits And Vegetables.(2:2 servings per day)
They provide us mostly with vitamins, minerals.
They helped us to regulate the body fluids, and boasting up our immunity system...
So,we are to eat more of them to ensure from not getting sick easily.
The last but not least,is the Meat And Alternatives.
They contain all the kinds of amino acids, whereas, most vegetables do not have.
They also build up our teeth and bones' growth as they contain a lot of proteins.
We are advised to eat more to stay strong and healthy.
At the tip of the pyramid, the fats, salts, oils, sugars.
We should not consumed too much of them but do not totally reject them.
Our body need a little bit amount of those to ensure a heathy diet also!
They may not be totally harmful.
Different ways of cooking:
We were taught of many different ways of cooking during theory lessons...
Frying-Deep,Stir,Dry,Shallow.
Boiling,Grilling,Steaming,Baking,Roasting,Microwave cooking.
Some are preferred as they are healthier choices of cooking.
During Mid-Year,we were asked to create our own bread recipe for the coursework.
The marks will be added into our PPR for Home Economics.
We did a survey on 10 teenagers(13-19),analysing on the main points/motive,creating our own new recipe, doing our own research on all kinds of bread.
After we did our practical,we are ask to evaluate or rather reflect on how we had done.
We wrote down in a piece of worksheet the teacher gave us.
My recipe contained most of Fruits,Grapes,Berries, and Chocolate!
It turn out to be a little bit very sweet! XD
Mainly because most of the fruits I used had a natural taste of sweetness...
Anyway,I did finish up the whole bread! :]
After practical,I did evaluation.
The whole process were fun & challenging!
I am craving for next year practical lessons again! XD
